We will provide families with funds to meet the therapeutic needs of their children without regard to race, ethnicity, religion or sex. We will strive for a collaborative effort by family members, treatment teams, schools and the Racine County community at large and will use a wide range of approaches to bring about gains in all areas of development.
We will maintain a qualified, competent and ethical board of directors and officers.
We are committed to carrying out our mission by making use of the most promising professional practices, frequently evaluating our methods of operating and by remaining receptive to new ideas and change.
What We Do and Who We Serve
We are a non-profit organization that serves Racine County children with autism and related disorders. We provide funds to families for their child’s therapeutic needs. Some examples of what funding will be given for are: books for parents or kids that specifically relate to autism, Applied Behavior Analysis treatment supplies (i.e. social stories, sequencing cards), speech therapy needs (i.e. PECS, oral motor tools), and occupational therapy needs (i.e. weighted blanket, exercise ball) and adaptive equipment/toys (i.e. weighted utensils, adaptive swing). This list is just an example of what can be requested, but is just a guideline and in no way complete. We will also consider assisting with payment for ST, OT, PT or ABA. We do not offer funds for experimental treatments and are able to exercise our discretion in this matter on a case by case basis.
Although there are no set limits on income, special consideration will be given to families who exhibit serious financial need. Please see application instructions for further details and requirements (on “contact us” page).
Inspiration: Zachary James Sorensen

1977-2003
Zachary was a person that embodied the values of this organization. He imparted love, compassion and charity to every person he touched throughout his life. Unfortunately, that life was cut short at the young age of 26, but his final act of compassion lives on in the young autistic boy he was providing therapy to at the time of his passing and in each of us. He was our brother and our friend. We will strive each day to make him proud.
